Guilty Pleasure

THE PLEASURE PART:   So last night after the Hubs and I spent the whole day unpacking boxes and putting stuff a way from our move, we decided we would take a break and go to dinner.  There are so many places in our area now that offer great food, but we decided to go to Red Robin…now if you’ve never been to a Red Robin you are really missing out, they have awesome food and generally awesome service.  We started out with an appetizer, the best onion rings I’ve ever had and deep fried mushrooms….I was almost full after eating just that, but we didn’t stop there, Hubs ordered a huge hamburger and steak fries and I ordered a salad.  It was called Avo-Cobb-O Salad, it was huge. Now this salad comes with deviled eggs, black olives, cheese, avocado (of course), bacon, tomatoes and the ever dreaded crumpled blue cheese….I HATE BLUE CHEESE…there are just no words that I can possible convey here that would make BLUE CHEESE a favorite of mine, it’s in the same category as raisins (that’s a whole other post), so I asked our very sweet waitress if she could tell them PLEASE leave off the blue cheese and she said “Oh sure, that’s not a problem”,  she wrote it down on her pad ….”NO BLUE CHEESE”.

We waited for quite a while after out appetizer to get our food, but finally it came…I go to pour my dressing on my salad and 1/6th of my salad is covered in BLUE CHEESE….Oh No!!!  As I was neatly and carefully removing every little crumb of that icky stuff our sweet waitress comes over and asks if everything is ok and notices I am removing this POO CHEESE from my salad and immediately said she would have them make another one, I assured her that wasn’t necessary as I was really hungry after waiting a while for the salad. I told her that I would just scrape it off and eat it as is.

THE GUILTY PART:  I’m enjoying what’s remaining of my salad and the Manager comes over with our ticket…NO CHARGE!  He had comped the whole meal. I was just shocked that they would do that.  As I’m still enjoying my salad I thought to myself, this is not right, we had no cash on us and could only pay with a credit card which meant there was no way our sweet waitress was getting her tip.  After all, it wasn’t HER fault, she shouldn’t be punished, she did her job.  I called her over to the table and told her that I did not want to accept this comped meal and she kept saying…”No, no it’s OK really”,  and I explained to her that it wasn’t OK because since we had no cash on us she wouldn’t get a tip now, she was totally fine with that.

Well “TRISTA” that’s NOT OK with me, the next time the Hubs and I are in there, which will be sooner than later, you are going to get double tipped. You were so sweet and kind about the whole ordeal.  And I found it quite comforting to know that you felt the same way about POO  Next time we come in we will definitely sit in your area…Thank you for everything and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for people like you..

About Beyond The Stones

Good Morning,

I have just created my new blog “Beyond The Stones” so I thought I would elaborate a bit on the title of this blog. I seem to be a habitual kidney stone maker, not by choice but because that’s just what my body wants to do. Many people including myself compare kidney stones to child birth, with that being said, I think I have about 30 or so fictitious children. Thankfully in real life I only have a few….children that is. I’ve been through many many tests to find the cause of this problem, but no one can seem to come up with anything other than it’s in my gene’s….I’d say it’s time for a new pair. I will post periodically about this subject in the hopes that maybe someone else goes through the same thing and we can compare notes. This subject is NOT going to be the main focus of this blog.

I have many things in my life that I am passionate about and enjoy, and I try very hard not to let this condition dictate to me what I’m going to do. Although, having said that, sometimes it’s unavoidable, I never know when one is going to strike and how that particular one is going to make me feel. I almost always have to have surgery to remove them which usually changes my life for about a week afterwards.

This Blog will have many subjects, some of which will be, but not limited to….Fun, Facts, Food, Family and many many more, just depends on what I’m passionate about when I wake up that day.

So, Welcome aboard and I hope you enjoy your stay and find my blog interesting and fun. I am open to suggestions and subjects, so if you have something you’d like to read about that I’m not covering, just let me know.

I hope you all have a blessed day.
