A Day Without Coffee????

weight-watchers-caribou-coffeeIt is no secret that I love(d) my Caribou coffee, however, since moving to Texas they don’t have them down here so I’ve had to settle for Starbucks. I say settle, but I’ve come to love their coffee too, and they can literally make the same coffee’s that Caribou can make…!  They are NOT better than Caribou, but they are still really good.

I use the K cups for my Keurig coffee pot and noticed yesterday that I was out of coffee….OH NO!!!  My local grocery store carries the Starbucks K cups which makes it easy for me. So I stopped by the grocers to pick some up and…..OH NO!! again, they were out of my decaf! I didn’t start to panic because there were a couple other options…GO TO STARBUCKS! So I get the my favorite Starbucks and….OH NO!! not again…they were out of decaf. Ok, now I just might be panicking a little bit…but there were still options.  I went to my second favorite Starbucks….Yayyy!!! they had my decaf…BUT….because it was Mother’s Day and they had a BOGO for Oprah’s Chai tea..(yuk) there was literally 25 people waiting in line for coffee, not to mention the drive thru was backed up for a block and a half…you guessed it, I left without my coffee  😦  and NOW I’m in a panic. “on a side note” when you have a stent in, standing for long periods of time is not an option! I get into the car and explain to my husband what had just happened again and he said…”What about Target”….YES!!! they have Starbucks and it was in the same parking lot…..

Now, Here’s the REST of the story and you aren’t even going to believe it….

I get into Target to the Starbucks and there is NO line at all, I walk up to the counter and ask for my favorite decaf K cups…WHAT? You don’t carry them? NOOOOOOOO!!!  I couldn’t say anything, I just walked away. I decided that coffee of any kind was better than NO coffee at all, so I headed towards the grocery section of Target. On the way I spotted the Keurig coffee pots, they always have the K cups there.  Yup, you’re right, NO decaf….no biggie, I was on my way to the grocery section anyway. I get to the coffee isle and you won’t even believe what I saw….boxes upon boxes of DECAF Starbucks coffee….WHAT? AND it was on sale. I was so excited I almost cried, I bought TWO boxes! I am good to go for a while 🙂 Oh and yes, I got my Iced Caramel Macchiato DECAF while I was there 🙂

I guess there is a moral to this story as well….NEVER give up!!

Have a blessed day everyone and enjoy your coffee

Happy Mother’s Day To all the Mom’s AND Dads!

How to Love Your Mother

Read | 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

As children, we showed Mom love with hugs, drawings, and cuddles. But now that we’re adults, some of us are uncertain how to demonstrate love to her. At times this is because the relationship is challenging: Meeting her needs as she ages can be emotionally draining and time-consuming. Or perhaps resentment over experiences of conflict, mistreatment, or rejection in childhood have created a barrier.

Yet despite past histories and present challenges, we cannot ignore the Bible’s command to honor our parents (Eph. 6:2). Let me suggest four ways to respect and love your mother regardless of what has happened in your relationship.

1. Love her patiently. There are no perfect mothers. We all make mistakes and carry emotional baggage that shapes our actions and responses. Just consider how patiently God deals with you, and do the same with your mom.

2. Treat her kindly. Rudeness only reveals our own imperfections and does nothing to benefit Mom or improve your relationship with her.

3. Act unselfishly. We are called to follow Christ’s example of selfless service instead of seeking convenience or our own comfort.

4. Remember that love requires forgiveness. Holding a grudge not only poisons us; it also prevents a good relationship from developing.

I truly hope you all have a very blessed and awesome Mother’s Day

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I’m Thankful for…… Thanksgiving is the appointed time for focusing on the good in our lives. In each of our days, we can find small blessings, but too often we overlook them, choosing instead to spend our time paying attention to problems. We give our energy to those who cause us trouble instead of those […]
